There are two different types of judgments in an eviction matter. The first is a possession judgment. In the event of a default, most commonly possession judgments are first acquired so that a landlord can regain access to the property as soon as possible.

The second, a money judgment, is obtained through proving the past due rent and damages and can be requested after the tenant(s) have been removed.

After obtaining the possession judgment, documents must be prepared, submitted and filed.
